Sally-Ann Moore, in charge of a big organization of European training between 1998 and 1999 saw herself confronted with a simple problem: offer eLearning solutions to 20 countries for big multinationals.
Her first reaction was to look for a show in Europe which could gather the various actors of the market and therefore bring her solutions and answers to her questions. In front of the complete lack of shows on the subject, Sally decided to create eLearnExpo in 2000 to fill this gap in the market and bring to companies the answers to an important question: how to effectively train employees at a lower cost while leaning on new technologies?

New Places New Faces – Installation at Espace Champerret, Paris
In 2011, after a decade at Palais des Congrès, the organizers decided to move in order to find a more convivial exhibiton place, more adapted to the market size: Espace Champerret, Porte de Champerret, in the 17ème arrondissement of Paris.
2012: A Grand Cru!
With some 4,000 qualified visitors and high quality speakers, iLearning Forum 2012 was a success for of all exhibitors and all visitors. This success has determined the expansion of the exhibition space for 2013 for Hall A of Escape Champerret for even more comfort and space.
2013: An Excellent Return on Investment
2013 has been a key strategic edition for iLearning Forum the moving on Hall A of the Espace Champerret, a bigger and wider hall. iLearning Forum has also welcomed with honor and success the first edition of the Salon du Talent Management in order to create an unique event : Total Talent.
The 4500 highly qualified visitors, 56 exhibitors and 84 renewed speakers have contributed to the huge success of this new rendez-vous.
2014: Best year so far
All the exhibitors agreed on the quality and usefulness of the show. Many of them generated so many leads that they will not need to do any other shows in 2014 in the region. Over the two days exhibitors on large and small stands generated and average of 80 qualified businesses leads each.
June 2014: Focus Group creation
The ILF management team organised a Focus group workshop for the top sponsors of iLearning Forum Paris (Cornerstone OnDemand, CrossKnowledge, e-doceo, FuturSkill, MindOnSite and Symetrix). The goal was to use creativity techniques to envisage the best possible event in 2015, with a maximum input from the top clients of the show. The vision was designed around a single mission - “To bring together buyers and sellers in the French speaking e-learning market”. The focus group outcomes gave the management team a strategic action plan for future shows completely aligned with the mission. The key changes implemented in 2014 include:
- Redesign the conference agenda to include more interactive sessions (roundtables, strategic workshops) and to provide two types of content: specialist for L&D experts and universal for business visitors
- Widen the visitor target database to include more general business and management roles. The aim to reach the 90% of French companies that still do not use eLearning for L&D
- Increase advertising and marcom in general business press and general business arena, rather than just HR, L&D and IT
- Improve the visitor experience with visit planning, demo agenda, longer conference breaks, “personal shopper” service. Run a visitor survey/focus group to collect their needs and preferences.

2015: French eLearning changes up a gear
The 2015 edition was marked by a new conference format that was a complete success; decision makers have really enjoyed seeing the benefits and approaches to e-learning project through strategic discussions with qualified speakers. The large-scale introduction of technological live demonstrations on the stands themselves was a real plus for all visitors.
Exhibitors have benefited from this new dynamic by being even closer to visitors, their expectations and their needs.
2016: French market gets enthusiastic for e-learning
iLearning Forum, the number one eLearning event in the francophone world took place on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th January 2016 at the Espace Champerret in central Paris. The event attracted 4500 high caliber visitors and was a resounding success for all concerned with a growth of 15% (number of visitors and exhibitors) between 2015 and 2016, and 210% compared to 2009. A rising trend marking a major shift in the French market boom of e-learning.
Key figures: 4500 qualified visitors, 75 exhibitors and 100 speakers.
2017: A remarkable edition
The 2017 edition was in all respects a remarkable edition. The number of exhibitors first reached a record: 105 companies came to present their innovative solutions and services. The space occupied was more important than ever with 5000sqm of exhibition space. Visitors were also not only ever as numerous but also more skilled and seasoned to the ins and outs of e-learning. The conferences also saw the creation of a third room dedicated to product demonstrations that was constantly filled during the two days.
Finally, iLearning Forum was acquired by CloserStill Media, a London-based company specializing in trade show and conference organization, to become Learning Technologies France in 2018 and grow to quickly become a world-class event.
