Session: The experience paradox: building human capability in an AI world
As AI takes on more of the work people do, we're being told that human judgment, critical thinking, and complex decision-making will become more valuable than ever. But there's a question we aren't asking often enough: How do people develop those capabilities when the work that traditionally helped build them is increasingly automated?
Experience has always played an important role in developing expertise. We learn by making decisions, encountering challenges, receiving feedback, and reflecting on what happens next. As AI reshapes the workplace, it may also disrupt those opportunities.
This session explores the relationship between AI, experience, and human capability, and what it means for the future of learning. We'll examine how learning leaders can rethink development strategies to ensure that greater efficiency doesn't come at the expense of building the judgment tomorrow's workforce will need.
